J.R. Alcorn 1940 Aug.30 Antilocapra americana 2 13 mi.N and 6 mi.W Deep hole, 6000 ft., Washoe Co., Nevada. about 15 to 20 feet up the stream and there drank for several minutes and then turning it started walking out into the valley from where it came. I took my white handkerchief and placing it on my gun barrel, waved it frantically attempting to "get the animals attention" as it started walking from the spring. It apparently did not see the handkerchief so I issued a very short whistle. The antelope immediately stopped, turned broad side and looked for several minutes at the white handkerchief that was "hoisted" from 1 1/2 to 2 feet above the rock. I then started moving the handkerchief from side to side (radius of inches) but after as looking at it for several seconds it started walking toward the valley again.
