Myotis
Myotis
1 mi. E + 2 mi. N Yerington, 4700 ft., Lyon Co., Nevada.
Dec. 27. In company with Dr. Wendell Chapman,
Miss Laura E. Mills and Kay Beach
I went to Yerington, Nev. from
Fallon via Walker River Dam.
Between Schurz + Yerington
I noted several prospect
tunnels in the mtn. so
we stopped on the highway
& walked to them. Near the
main tunnel a tobacco
can found in a rock monument
read as follows:
" Amado #2 J.W. Tobert
1/4 mi. S of Schurz road, 1/2 mi from
Yerington."
Enterin the mine we found
50 ft. from mouth one Myotis in a dormant
stage, hanging head down & draped
over a rock from a crevice in
the ceiling as illustrated.
