J.R. Alcorn Erethizon epixanthoon Trueker River, 4100 ft, Washoe Co., Nevada. Feb. 20, 1938 No 138a ♂♂ wt. 8 lbs. This porcupine was caught in a trap set in a willow thicket and hunted with one magpie. Carbon River, 4300 ft, Lyon Co., Nevada. Feb. 27, 1938 No. 139a ♀ wt. 9 lbs. This porcupine was shot out of the top of a large cottonwood tree at 2:00 PM. Wilson Cr., 7500 ft, Nye Co., Nevada- Toquima range Oct. 10, 1938 No 218 ♂ (skin only) Weight 28 lbs. was caught in a trap set for a coyote Wilson Cr., 7200 ft, Toquima range, Nye Co., Nevada. Oct. 13 1938 No 225 ♂ who caught in a trap set along the stream. Camel Cr., 4700 ft, Lander Co., Nevada. Oct. 15 1938. No 226 10 lbs.- No 227 8 lbs. ♂♂ These two porcupines were found (one dead) in the road just above (west) the ranch. West Walker River, Wilson Canyon, 4900 ft, Lyon Co., Nev. March 5 1939. No 242 ♂♂ was caught in a trap set for Raccoon. These porcupines are numerous along the river in this section where they make their homes in the rocks;
