J.R. Alcorn 1938 Thomomys bottae canus 20 March 4 mi W Fallon, 4000 ft, Churchill County, Nevada 1938 in the sand hill. The nest was also in the sand hill. He lost the hole and the gopher was not found. Later she threw up some earth or a trap caught her. Above alfalfa was five years old. March 21 Six gophers caught in traps in alfalfa field. 1938 Two males and four females as follows: One had 6 embryos, 3/10 developed; One had 11 embryo, 3/10 developed 6 in right tube 5 in left. One had no embryo. One had enlarged ovaries. Mar. 23 1 mi SW Pyramid Lake, Washoe County, Nevada. 1938 In a small pasture with some alfalfa growing in it I caught Pocket Gophers as follows: - Three males, eight females. One female Ovary normal tubes. One female had enlarged ovary tubes One female ovary normal. One female enlarged ovary tubes. One female milk in udder. One female 4 embryos, 5/10 developed 2 each side. One female 6 embryos 4/10 developed 3 each side. One female 9 embryos 2/10 developed 5 left side 4 right. Mar. 24 Eight gophers caught in traps Three were males 1938 One female had normal ovary tubes. One female had enlarged ovary tubes. One female had 5 embryos, 7/10 develop, 3 right 2 left side. One female had milk in udder. One female had 5 embryos, 3/10 developed 3 left side 2 right.
