Alcorn 1937 (3) Thomomys bottae canus April 1937 4 to 8 mi W Fallon, 4000 ft. Churchill County, Nevada I caught four female gophers; one had six embryos 1/2 developed; one female (male caught in same runway) had seven very small embryos; one female (male caught in same runway) ovary enlarged to 1/4 inch; one female being suckled - ovary normal. April 12 1937 Out of eight female gophers caught today; one had 8 embryos 2/3 developed; one had 5 embryos 2/3 developed; one had normal ovary; one had 7 embryos 1/6 developed; one had 7 embryos 2/3 developed; one had enlarged inflamed ovaries; one had enlarged ovaries (appearance of being suckled); one had enlarged ovaries (appearance of being suckled). April 20 1937 One female caught in gopher trap in alfalfa field measured total 8 1/6; tail 2 5/6; h. foot 1 3/6; Ear 1/6. This female had 8 embryos 1/2 developed. July 20 1937 5 mi. S Fallon, 5000 ft. Churchill County, Nevada Information collected on gophers indicated and explanations of same; Depth (5) means depth of tunnel where trap was set or amount of dirt from top of tunnel to top of ground (in inches). Total number of mounds (6) means total mounds that particular gopher made. Length of packed tunnel, means length of the filled tunnel or length of the tunnel that had been filled or the distance between the farthest mounds the gopher had made (
