July, 4, 1938 One (no 168a JRL) squirrel was caught in a trap that was baited with several raisins on the treadle of a rat trap. These squirrels are numerous in this section. I saw seven in a one mile walk up the mountain. 2 mi. E Incline, 7700 ft., Washoe Co., Nevada. Aug.28, 1938. (no 193a JRL) was shot as it ran up a tree. I set traps near several holes along Incline Creek and caught one of these squirrels. I also caught 7 squirrels out of 25 traps set for flying squirrels along this stream in the heavy timber so they must be fairly common.
