Alcorn 1939. Eutamias Aug. 13. Baker Creek, 11,100 ft., White Pine Co., Nevada. Lyson returning to a cabin (that is our camp location) after being gone all day a mouse trap set at the outside corner of the cabin contained one of Eutamias (no. 343). No others were seen during our entire stay at the cabin in the immediate vicinity. About 1/2 mi. above the cabin I saw several of these animals and above Treasury Lake at 12,200 ft., several were seen. One at this point became very curious and as I sat on a rock in the open the animal came to the edge of a low tree and there spent considerable time looking me over. I sat as motionless as possible and the animal approached within ten feet and carefully looked me over. I moved and it ran to a tree and disappeared.
