J.R. Alcorn 1936 Lynx rufus October 3-mi.W 3 mi S Fallon, 4000 ft, Churchill Co., Nevada. (no 106a N.P.L.) was caught in a no. 3 Victor steel trap that was placed among the thickets of Bush Brush and set in a cow trail and baited with Coyote scent. These Lynx cats are not very numerous in this vicinity but cause they are easily caught. They usually inhabit the foothills where they feed upon rodents and are not malested to a great extent by man. Those that venture into the valley here usually get into trouble and are caught by the ranchers.
