V.Mills shot a coyote today and I
took the following measurements:
♂ Total 46 inches.Tail 13½ inches.H Foot 7¼ inches.Ear 5¾inches.
Weight 29 pounds.
Walker River, 5 mi.N Yerington, 4350 ft., Lyon Co., Nevada.

This large coyote was caught in a trap
that I had set several days ago. The
trap was baited with a great horned
owl which I had shot. Trap was
set out on a sand bar & tied
to a log which I drug to the
location for the purpose. Many
coyote tracks were seen along
the river. (no.241 JRA)

highway in front of my car
so I stopped and got out of the
car and shot it with the 30-06

no. 473 J.R.A. 1140-323-190-123-(26 lbs.) This
large coyote was caught in a No.3 Victor
steel trap set in a place where many
coyotes come to scratch. 2 Kangaroo rats
were used for bait.
