J.R. Alcorn Scapanus latimanus 1/2 mi. E Zephyr Cave, Lake Tahoe, Douglas Co., Nevada. Aug. 27, 1936. Many mole runs "bulges" were seen out through the conifer trees and along the small stream. All those that were out away from the stream were rather old & apparently the moles had been working this, now dry, ground in early spring when it was moist. I set a trap but none were caught. 3 mi. S Mt Rose, 8500 ft., Washoe Co., Nevada. Aug. 27, 1938 No. JRA 185a, 1929 and 188a. These three moles were caught along a small stream. Many other mole runs were seen. Most of the runs noted were very old & were out in the conifer forests where the ground was dry. All fresh runs were in moist ground. 1 mi. S Pyramid Lake, 3950 ft., Washoe Co., Nevada. April 21 1939, Near a small meadow I saw numerous mole runs today. These runs were out among the sagebrush. I did not have a trap or the time to catch any,
