Have been making a special study of the warblers the past week. Perhaps I'll learn more next year. - Goodbye 1893- 1894. Feb. 17 Spent a pleasant half day with in upper part of Big Arroyo and Sycamore Canyon; principally after notes on Cal. Wren.-plants, &c. 22. Wash. birthday. Spent most of the day in "Pleasant Canyon" botanizing and taking notes- Obs. 23 species, Mar. 2 Sat (Fri). Love Miller let me try his bird call yesterday- it is a 6shot cotts. 48 cal. Shoots shot which fills our areas. nearly to ring (1/2 dr ?) powd. same. I turned it over to Heller. Miller leaves for Ariz. Mon next.
