Cala. Snatch. P. californica. 753 1891 5/26 Rec'd: a set of 5 fresh from the boys. 5/30 Took a set of 4 near Sycamore. Scent advanced in 3 while 4th was fresh, not rotten. I seen. Placed 4 ft up in sage bush nest preserved. Composed of split bark, sage blossoms on outside lined with a little cotton. Size: drain 1.25, depth, 1.50 inside, drain 2.25, depth 2.50 outside. 749 1894 Dec. 16 Ruby Crowned Kinglet. Regulus Calendula. Have been common this fall in our pines and pine trees and especially along spring brook where I shot one yesterday. -- Fronting?
