Mocking-bird. Mimus Polyglottus 703, 1891 Jan. 15 These birds are beginning to sing, I have heard several. First not later than '10. 5/23 Took 2 sets. 5/30 Several sets. Jul. 14 Found nest of several ygs. just hatched and one egg. Aug 6 Saw a young bird which was able to fly without trouble, near the above nest. 1893. Feb. 23 The first I have heard sing, was observed today. Mar. 28 While sitting on our porch a mocker flew into the potato-vine and so! There was her nest right above the doorway. She went on arranging the material not in the least afraid of me. Apr. 25 The above nest has young birds in it.
