While on a short cut road the horse 'smashed' the harness while I was after Sciurus, but we drove to summit of Strawberry Peak all the same. Had a pleasing experience with return trip tickets and old roads. San Bedus to Toll house (Waterman) about 6 mi. To Summit 7 mi., to Wilson's 2 mi., to Little Bear (by short cut) 5 or 6 mi., to Highland Mills 8 @ 10 miles. Altitude, Wilson's about 5,000 Straw- berry Pk. 6,100, Little Bear about 5,000.
