Barrow, Alaska Dr On afternoon - I took soil sample, vacuumed forth & obserative records at Arizius plot - drove tool through the NAA with area - more Dunlen & Peatboll seen. Weather overcast with low fog - visibility 2mi - to 10 yards - varying through day. Wind 5-10 mph from NE east. Tundra very wet & soggy for recent rains. 7 Aug Barrow -> Barker Is. - Lake Peters, Alaska Morning spent in procuring soil sample - weather- high overcast - light racking began. left for Barker Island at 1530 with D. Mullen, D. Ashley - 3 rows sun between camps So. Barrow 3 - 1 out 5mi E of Sa Barrow - 3 - -1 out 3mi west of Admiralty - at 1623. overcast shore of Admiralty - 1627 saw/ out - 1630 - 1 out + 5 Glaciar Culls a turnara - at 1647- 1 Barn Swallow - 1725 at WOODS Camp - 2 Dovs on east side ! Circle. Arrived Barker Is. at 190 - met genwoman - transferred to float plane - arrived at Peter lake at 2010 - Weather run, - low clouds with severe thunderstorms between Barker & Peters. 1 immature Sempalmarked Plover seen, by 2:30 A.M. at mount chambers Mullen & I put out traps at The SE end & Peter's at the north end - weak sloppy - little seen. To bed at 0230.
