Holmes, P. 1962 Journal 36. 25 July Barrow, Alaska Worked in the lab all morning on bird specimens. In the afternoon - I went to Bear Ridge & Elsa lagoon (vic. of Brant Pt.). Weather overcast - 10-15 mph NW winds. Little bird activity. 26 July Barrow, Alaska Specimens processed + insect sampler completed during the morning. In the afternoon, I went looking for segs in Voth & vicinity. Little activity was noted - 1 small group of Dunlin, several Golden Plovers, + 2 Long-t. Jaegers. Longspins are present in small numbers - in groups. Weather overcast + calm in the morning- 10-15 mph N.W wind during the afternoon. Rain started during the late evening. 27 July Barrow, Alaska Weather: hard, driving rain during the early morning hours - stopping by 0900. Stormy N.W. wind blowing all day - with fog & very low ceiling. - Scattered shower mist (winds 15-30 mph) Occa with large breakers.- Morning spent in lab working on specimen stomach analysis. In the p.m. - Hens & Tool insect pond sample + measured Belyland ponds.
