Holmes, PI 1962 Journal 31. 14 July Barrow, Alaska up Pete Savoie & Warra Esler (Folk's project) who had a Spleen-dor vessel. In the afternoon - went to Vth Area & insect trap & took several bird samples. Several Dunlin, 1 & Becton, 1 semi-juvenile I'd seen a week ago & Several Golden Plovers. No young birds were located. Notes written in the evening & samples pruned. - Ice went out yesterday - but is still visible & miles or so off shore. 15 July Barrow, Alaska Stayed in during the morning & worked a specimen & stomach contents. In the afternoon - went to insect area & took samples, observat'n records, etc. Weather overcast with 300' mgc eastern bruge. 16 July Barrow, Alaska Dewnt to Shroaid during the morning. Dead life was essentially nil - in the plot - little seen elsewhere - except long t. gaujars. Weather clear, warm & calm. Ugly bruge during the late morning. In afternoon it was almost without cover 3-wmp and wind. It kept to the far mudempt. Afternoon spot picking insect samples
