4 July Barrow, Alaska
Worked i lat during A.m. morning & Spitiines -
The went to VBR beer to check i nests. Few
more Pemlin nest were hatching.
Afternoo spent in working i insect
Samples - nearly finished them with
the help of Henry Sullivan. Weather
Overcast, cold N. wind during A.m.-
with i few snow flurries - clearing
during A. afternoon - so Met tuck
clear & sunny by evening. By 2200-
The wind had slowed down to a
very light N. breeze - making work
in the tundra very pleasant. Went to
furbely plot & Bent Moly from 1930-
2200. Little bird activity -
5 July Barrow, Alaska
Henry left for Shovil via Furbely
plot at 0800. Arrived at camp
at 0945. Census Out from
1000 to 1600 - returned to A.M.
Weather clear sunny - but a cold
7-12 m.p.s. east wind was
blowing all day - it was cold
& windy during the evening.
The tundra is very dry at Shovil. The
