Holmes, R.T. 1964 Journal 21 June Barrow, Alaska of this species on beach ridge - with legs. In the evening - Maclean & I went to The No. B.R. to chek a Buff-br. + WR. - Weather overcast, cold east wind (5-15mph). 22 June - 0500-0715 - No. B.R. recorded WR + PS - light north-east wind - snow on ground & falling during early period but melting rapidly by 0700. 0900-1130. No. B.R.-camp - WR activity: Notice for area + area. Peckers are flocking in increasing numbers. Weather partially clear, only a light NE wind. In the afternoon to micromet section of birch sour and 1 Pitelka's plot. - weather clear - light NE breeze. In lab in the evening. 23 June - 0830-1200. No. Beach Ridge - Weather overcast 3-10mph Northerly breeze - WR activity good - little Buff-br. activity. Shorebird displays have decreased markedly in the last 2-3 days. 1500-1730. No. Beach Ridge - drum area. Evening in lab 24 June 0930-1230. No. B.R. Bird activity decreasing markedly - some PS + WR display but no BS or RB. Weather overcast - occas. drizzle, cold NW wind (5-15mph). 1600-1800. Gaslow Ridge - PS & Buff-br. Few White-rumps. - Weather clear Evening in lab.
