Holmes_T.T. 1964 Journal 14 June Barrow, Alaska 0830-1230. Photographed PS on Piktha's plot + Then walked to north beach ridge - PS activity Good, little WR - 2 Buff-breasted Saps. a No. B.R., no 4 drums. - Weather clear - light (5-6mph) East wind. 1430-1730.- No B.R. - weather same, except wind 10-15mph. Few more buff-br. - white-rumps not very active. 15 June 0815-1130. No B.R., mostly photographing buff-breasted Saps - PS + watching WR's. Weather same as yesterday - clear - sunny - windy (8-12mph). 1430-1800. Went to gaski ridge - collected 2 pairs 1 WR - little activity - watched polygynous male P. b south - 2 Buff-br. Sev. B.R. (1male) + numerous P & PS. Weather about same; wind increase in speed. 2030-2230. Walked past / No.B.R. - with E.A.P. & Maclean - watched buff-breasts which were common. 16 June 0900-1200.- No. Baird Ridge : 1430-1500. No. ar D.P. (Helbi) Plot + North B.R.- Morning some observer buff-breast & WR - occurs PS. Weather Clear - strong (15mph) in a.m. - somewhat lower in afternoon. Tundra snow just 1snow - exact along the edge of curve near the shelter. In beach ridge + fairly-steady in some pools + polygon troughs. Fog in late evening
