11 June Barrow, Alaska
1330-1600. Walked north half Pikelot plot.
Nan beach ridge - display activity poor.
Weather aircraft - 15-20 mph SE wind - light
rain during late afternoon.
1930-2100. Drum Area - few BS + SP; considerable
display in these two species. Few old squaw on Fair
Lake. Weather aircraft - 10-15 mph wind.
12 June - 0830-1130. No.BR. - weather overcast but bright -
light 6-8 mph northerly breeze. Bird activity
not particularly good. 1330-1630. Quick trip to
Gasline Ridge (Sed. WR, BS) + near washout the north
beach ridge near the gasline (- where new micro-
ecology station is now situated). - again many
WR, few PS, RB, BS. Weather - north clear + sunny,
light 3-10 mph north wind - some low fog +
light sheet in late afternoon. Pkike armed at
1630 - Went to field (DTR) at 2100-2200. Other.
Few WR shading.
13 June 1500-1730 - No. Beach Ridge - Weather clear - sunny - 2-10 mph
east wind. WR's common (1 nest found), BS, PS, RB.
1400-1700 - Drum Area - N. BR - ABCS - WR - abundant
like morning as A.M. 2000-2200 - Voth Area -
Weather same (cold!) Little activity - but PS
activity was generally good. I.S.O. melt
proceeding rapidly - tundra now 90%
clear. 1st Ranunculus flower on beach ridge.
