17 June Barrow, Alaska
Beard Ridge checked in The a.m. - several Dunlin &
Black-phase Pom & Para jaegers, Golden Plovers, sex.
Snow Ducks. In the afternoon, I still went to
Als a lager - looked at a pair of Curlew Seag. - Alfa
Sugar, Silver...I went to Dr. Ha's cabin to
record bird songs & locate nests - saw, not
wounded but the recorder was not operating
properly. Weather overcast with light breeze,
during the morning & afternoon - sunny &
calm in the evening.
18 June Barrow, Alaska
Specimens & insect sample worked in the
morning & partially in the afternoon. A short
trip was made to Beard Ridge, where
5 Snow Geese & 1 pair of Curlew Seag.
were encountered - as well as a sec. dipl.
O'psectors & pair of Golden Plovers. In the
evening. Fullwax & I checked Dr. Stetler's
beard ridge - met Stetler - spend
some time checking the Curlew Seag -
returned at 11:00 p.m.. Weather overcast
& NW wind - heavy fog - rainstorm
in the evening.
19 June Barrow, Alaska
Stetler & I went to B.R. in morning - could not
find Curlew Seag. - due to Storm w. wind.
Bird activity very low. Afternoon - evening
