Holmes 1963 Journal 62 15 July Barrow, Alaska Weather today was overcast - with light drizzle & scattered showers all through the day. Wind was easterly light (t from a sound) - there was no wind. Temp must have been in high 40's - Chironomidae & mosquitoes were present in low numbers. 16 July Barrow, Alaska Morning spent in lab processing insect samples. In afternoon, trugh sand glacier - Near Meadow Lake 1RB, 2TGB , 3ADRB, 6 ADRB+1 In, 3TOP, 1IPS. S.1 females ngs - 8708 1 In RB, 2 IPS, 1IPS.T, 2In AB. Second trips were collected. Weather overcast. - 10-15 mph east Wind. - 30-40%. 17 July Barrow, Alaska Day spent in lab working on specimen & insect vacuum samples. Hurd left at 8:36 this evening - during the day - we had several good conversations via phone here. Weather: stormy east wind + snowy in early morning - turning to rain during remainder of day. Wind kept up at 20-35 mph - so ground was a very nasty & disagreeable day.
