Holmes, R. 1963 Journal 5? 7 aug Barrow, Alaska Went to Beachridge, central marsh in manny- sank weed in deep mud / The marsh + weeded rock. Several adult & PS + Imm PS seen along the marsh edge. In afternoon revening, I pressed specimen & worked on writings. Weather- great rain throughout Day. light hours for southwest. 8 aug Barrow, Alaska Took Ed Cutler (marine biologist) & went to Ochpi Slough - saw scattered mussels, periwinkles + snail groy / Melobesia. I [illegible] little mud activity. Killed a 5-foot Bearded seal - Ensignauro barbatas - 30026 until I caught it in a marshy pool. Picture if it were taken + the afternoon. Choles returned & brought the animal back after shot it. The next day afternoon Mass spent in skinning & sketching & evening, specimens were processed. Weather- sunny during most day - cool. 9 aug Barrow, Alaska In morning - climb to Beachridge, near central marsh - direct 1 BR + North magnetic station. Filed 1ABRPS - east 1BR. Temperature
