Holmes 1963 Journal 5 Aug Barrow, Alaska 4 adults RB were noted in the polygonal area near 10th. Also - fled 125 RP. In general bird activity was light- Arctic seemed to be moving & were mostly in upland - polygonal hundreds - except as one big flock on Grand ponds. There were - noticeable abundant adult pectorals. One seen seen with one flying young. Also, a noticeable abundant young fly- pictures & rebirds - maybe some? One have left already ??. Weather today was overcast with a 5-amp wet wind. 6 Aug. Barrow, Alaska John Johnson, Steve Holland & I went to Shuavail Today - walked the census plot. Also, 3 juveniles PS & sec. ad. RB (11th & 3 T.) were seen on the plot. 2 I RB were observed in Fortprint Lakes. Juveniles (Pm.) were hunting #3 Snowy Owls were seen near the lake. Weather was overcast - 5-15mph wind SE to SW. Light rain in afternoon - strong evening Afternoon even in labor notes & specimens.
