Holmes 1963 Journal 26 July Barrow, Alaska Frogman & I chil ever seen frost 1 foot thick. Other jay activity was not much evidence. In afternoon, I took pond & water samples. In evening, storms were analyzed. Weather was calm but went to rain in morning. Became windy in afternoon. By late evening snow beginning to sprinkle again. 27 July Barrow, Alaska Manny spent in lab writing notes & processing specimens. Weather: light rain & southerly breeze. The next, weather continued through a day & night - with considerable amount of rain falling. Mmm lab work was done during the afternoon evening. 28 July Barrow, Alaska Left at 0810 went 2 min for Denear Plant Management & went to Shrover - when we walked the plot for 2 hours. One fur pectoral nest remain - the others have vanished & the brood have for the most part departed.
