R.T. Holmes 1963 Journal 39. 23 July Barrow, Alaska activity. I felt some putrid adult moltos near 10.4. Weather was overcast, light eastwest breeze - during noon day. Fine mosquitoes & midges were out - bothersome around mid day. Weather general warm today. 24 July Barrow, Alaska After waiting until 0830 to put on coat, I went out to joshua ridge 1PM East to Mount Colvill Lloyd - North to Wolfleblay & then back to camp via central mound & north beach ridge. During float (flats - 3RO - was seen - in putrid swamp - but occasional single 9+4 & 78. Weather 06 a.m. we partly overcast - with some sun. In afternoon - I went to collect soil samples. Weather for 1200- 1800 was Steel for - probably limited to 10 yards circles. In the evening - it cleared & we sunny prevailed. 23 July I went to Shuvail a morning walked the plate, checking watchful.
