Holmes, R. 1962 Journal 10 June Barrow, Alaska Here, arrived in a late morning. Next went to Elsm Bluffs - N.W. of Wabikick bay & The Beach Ridge - Central Marsh - SRI. Several flocks of Pectorals. Sev. displaying Dunlin & Brails, pmarine jangars courting; Snowy Owl, Yellow Wagtail; Sandhill Cranes -. In the evening Nines + I went to Bri Hm's Area + Barrelridge: Black-bellied Plover, Golden Plover, 2 Long-billed Dowitchers; Sev. Dunlin, Semipalmated & Pectoral displaying, 4 Stellar Eiders, Sev. Pintails + Old Squaw. Red Phalaropes? Weather today - clear - no wind - Temperature up to 60°F - fantastic June day! The snow is going fast - very soft - Pluses, water is running off in streams - The slough are all impassable - large areas on top of Beach ridge are now exposed. 11 June Barrow, Alaska Morning spent in the lab + went to airport to meet Dr. Pitelka. In the afternoon - drove Pitelka, Dr. & Mrs. D.S. Farner to The Beach Ridge. Late The Beach Ridge + gasoline maze were checked - as were both Area + the insect plots. Weather: clear & sunny - snow going fast - most areas now are opening up - I snow is through to Navigators with
