Holmes,R 1963 Journal 33, 16 July Barrow, Alaska Weather Today was nasty! In early morning, it began to rain + the wat- The froze in the grass & ground. Child reported that at 0530-- the ground was nearly a solid sheet via - by 0800, some had started to melt but the ice still cruddy when working we deturdu. During the morning an icy ran fell but- by early afternoon, it warmed up, to three meters- but it kept- raining all evening. Along with this- was a storm 10-15 mph northeast wind. In the morning I went to broad ridge vicinity - checked several meters north end / broad ridge census plat + Ben came by to pick up Childs at Broken Manor. - The birds shown obvious effect / the extreme weather - except that my birds are brooding young & setting tightly eggs. There may be an effect on adult insect hoon- but nothing could be detected today. In the afternoon - I took Childs
