12 July Barrow, Alaska
Weather overcast with a strong
(10-20 mph) north-northeast wind. In the
morning, I went to Beaver Ridge &
The area south of not so soft lagoon - when
I found an auger net with young I
discovered that another brood
destroyed + at least one adult shot.
A fledgling redback was encountered; 2
$% were collected. No perches were
noted in any direction.
In the afternoon, I took soil samples
at the insect plate & went thru Vok
area & the high country to the south.
Two perches nests were intact, one
was not occupied - no $ & chin
were nearby. Two more broods
were encountered in the afternoon
travel. One flying immature female
was collected - NTE 10th area -
both adults ever present.
In my evening specimen rinse
samples now processed. Great
unraveled next.
