Holmes,R. 1963 Journal 7 July Barrow, Alaska Steve Logsdon, Dick Mirlan (Anthropologist from George Washington Univ - Student of Campbell's) + David H. Sheward + Spent extra day plot. Weather was clear - such a light SE breez. Mosquitoes were bothersome - many adult tzedods seen. Bird display activity had practically ceased - except for 2 P.R. perched & Weltrock. In evening - Specimens were processed 8 July Barrow, Alaska. Continued Frank? (either plot or tracer) Midday morning - little bird activity - no display. Took a rubber to fresh plot - met 2 Clethra spp. In afternoon - went to moist plot with soil samples of De clethrae near Vlaha. Collected birds near AACS in evening, after processing last 1 pond sample. Weather was clear - but windy (10-15 mph - SE) - no mosq. were seen a feet - adult tipulids were noticeable, however. These started to come off shore in afternoon.
