4 July Barrow, Alaska
procured several birds before going to
Mullins for sugar.
Snow started falling about 1630t
Continued for the rest of the evening. By
2201 - there was about 2" on the ground
icycles hanging all the building Steve
Holland & I walked out into the drum
area & checked in the birds - which
were getting frantic. The buntings
seemed most upset & both members
of the pair came out scurrying around
trying to find food - primarily for the
young. A brood of semipals was found. One
was being brooded by 1 adult. The adult
semipals were feeding in the left mound
also put mayors - but were having a
difficult time with it.
5 July Barrow, Alaska
Snow still covering Nygard - both in Camp 2
or the fundra. In the latter place - it
covered about 87" on ground (at 1830) &
probably 150% at 1700 - the melt
showed four - equals: The drift
varied - being 2-3" in depth - &
crushed part of the drift.
I consumed Bibel's plot during
the morning & noted the bird activity
