1 July Barrow, Alaska
Morning spent in lab writing field notes & processing
soil samples. Pitehrs departed a little
in early afternoon & I went to gasline ridge
vicinity. Weather overcast with a 5-10
mph [illegible] west wind. Some pectoral activity
was found south of gasline ridge - where
two ground countships were made, & several
small flake 178 & 84. Apparently, a
heavy rain fell in the early morning hours &
The tundra was much wetter than in past
days.
In evening, more notes were written,
specimens processed & sample picked. For
settled in by 1900.
2 July Barrow, Alaska
Denny, Dr. Manny. I took Dr. Nils Fogad
a Danish biologist working on a dratm - to
Antarctic mares & alms Nu, north side of
Wellsblog Slough & up along the east
side of Mach Ridge. The weather was
poor - overcast with a strong west wind -
There was little bird activity.
In afternoon, I took insect samples.
The weather remained the same.
In evening, samples & specimens
were processed.
