R. Holmes 1963 Journal 25. 28 June Barrow, Alaska Morning went to gustlin ridge - meadows lake region, collecting. Afternoon pond samples, etc. were taken at the insect plots. Weather overcast with a modrate (10-15 mph) east wind. Evening in lot 1 at Dr. Mullins'. 29 June Barrow, Alaska Left for Throat at 0830 after chidum, Dr. Berlese's. All day was spent on the plot where shrewd activity was on the decline. Weather - parkravant, some sunshine, light east wind. By evening the weather was settling in - north. Delt for shrews. Evening spent in returning & grewell to retrieve contents (weard animal traps & track) Other specimens were processed. 30 June Barrow, Alaska Morning, mud samples were picked up then a brief census of bird activity was made in the ATCS area. Afternoon soil sample was taken for a hunting trap was made south Voth area. There was little shrew activity noted. Weather - overcast + wind (east 10-15 mph) Rain began falling in mid afternoon & it continued into the evening. Pitfall traps at Mullins' to climate.
