Holmes,R. 1962 Journal 15. 11 June Barrow, Alaska In morning, Steven, bossda, + I went to bear ridge - where bird activity was, on light - then to gaslin ridge - when BS, RB, + PS were actively displaying. In afternoon, Pitelka, who arrived a late morning, + I went to brod ridge - BS+PS display - no redbooks. Talked ore rescue plans for summer - met Mullen + talked on various topics. In evening, I went to VOT Stomp - volcanoes - found first Omnivore Jay nest - with one egg. Henning sign - not good alarm VOT bluff. - GASLING - Blooming Sandfraya opposite folk's. Weather today was clear - with fog setting in for start general Time. - Cold - 10-15 mph NE breeze. 12 June Barrow, Alaska In a.m., Pitelka + I went to brod ridge where Pitelka covered his plot + I went on to the rimavoe plot on Elsa Lagoon. 3 more jaeger nests were seen- Sandpiper activity occasional - very few Dewlin were seen - Pectins were even scarce, but seventeen noted along road. Shore of Wobleschlag. In afternoon I picked insect samples, talked with Pitelka + Delavigne
