Holmes, R. 1963 Journal 12. 8 June Barrow, Alaska Morning was heavy for r by it - tasted weird. In afternoon - west to Elson - where snow is also needed, rapidly - Area - 10-7 b wide na - further both and where it was where we found Curlers Sep. last year. Snowy Owl Worms - not 2 (S-q) along Elson - 2 (po) - level ridge. Clear: high overcast - 5-10 mph - east wind, In evening - to Voth + Trepelene III & D Area - heavy for 2 mint prevented me from sleep much - but I did locate The 3 Buff-breasted + watched them for awhile - Several semi-pas were displaying + more flocks of 44 PS were encountered. 9 June Barrow, Alaska Beaver Ridge + ATCS - weather foggy, light NW wind. Beaver Ridge - snow free snow from gunkin to mosquitoes both Many are 100-150 yards wide. The grass and the ridge is now putrefying the pads are mushy-ice-making travel difficult. 1 DPS, 4 BS, 2 SP + IRB seen Hohent - Ridge - Also Snowy Owl Par gorges.
