Holmes, R. 1963 Journal 7 June Barrow, Alaska -Need fog - pretty. Snow melt proper rapidly + cobble, calmit impassable. In evening - went to Insect plots & took soil sample - found 3 Buff-breasted Sandpiper chasing- Vom bluff are almost free (snow - except in ravines - but deeper medial mocha. 8 June Barrow, Alaska Left at 0500 rwent to Voth Area - Velkpe Slough (where PS nest was found & Held (48 PS, 27 PS, RD + SP even ale Seen) ; layor put band crossable- Due to Skroovil where plot wr checked. 10 PS - north plot - which was still 3/4 covered with snow. Some plot ridge - almost bare - but only 1 -> PS seen. Returned via Redboch Ride + Persei Gale. I st Ramunculus Petros were by far the most abundant sandpiper Today. Suttlebors? were a ever publ 1 ipa found - + flot 45 were moving through. Snow is going fast - travel has become difficult. Weather is
