Holmes, R 1963 Journal 3 June Barrow Alaska was overcast - 15-20mph NNE wind - coco- must pads remained frozen all day today. Area between Broot Pt & the polygonized ground, 100yds NNE of Woll - was set as a removal plot. Took 40% & PS today - removed 3 RT. Two blocks 1 RB were located close to Oshpik - See collected. Melt off is not proceeding rapidly due to cool weather. The bluffs have about 50-75 yds of exposed tundra in width near their entire length. Evening working a specimen. 4 June Barrow, Alaska Worked a specimen in morning then walked out from drum area - little effort, except 2 BS, SE L.C., 1 few P. jaygaris. Snow is gone for most polygonal - but areas still 7y covered. Afternoon - went along beach ridge to Wolshdly - along N. shore line (Woll Is Eigr - down to Sobekl - 1 block - Pectorals-numerous (PSP only); redbocks seen - in Warfleet - no other peps. Expected Bluff is getting large - 100 yards wide now. Made annual late afternoon - Winds went - 5-10mph NNE wind.
