Holmes, R 1963 Journal 6. 1 June Barrow, Alaska mut-off has slowed - not much change in the last 2 days. Pond coverage at inner area has not changed since 29?! Snow flurries during the last day have covered many of the upland sites, although, Bird Rock, Olson Bluff, Wellsbly Bluff (NW side), and Crest Vol. Cliff Bluff are exposed to varying degrees but all present a day continuation and 1 open tundra. Bird life: hover, so confined to Elson + Wells Bluff, mostly in the former (except Cassius). Dusky Singles were picked in the evening. 2 June Barrow, Alaska In morning, walked out through Neder- ane - saw 187 PS, several baird, sweet loryspur + duntiop + paragon. No Murreler. Snow was crusty; many areas covered over by drifting powdery snow. Wind: high prevalent, cold S & W. In pm - Welloughly + D went to Ktrowa- downbrahee chronologically. Went directly to Renoli Creek (gashin) - saw 16 Por Gorean when scannily - went to South Valley Flord - where there were 3 loryspur areas.
