Holmes,R 1963 Journal 5. 31 may Barrow, Alaska Drive to Elsa bluff & worked South To 2 mi below Ookepil slough. Weather was windy (10-15 mph), cold & there were snow flurries all morning I would have added snow to Retemena covering up some (the exposed areas - almost not significantly) - bird activity was apparent, suppressed. - als 1 display - Dot of a pied red spp. - was noted - colony spins in display - but numerous fulmar plus were noted. 1 June Barrow, Alaska Morning in collieby birds along Elsa lagoon, Between Brant Pt & Wotleschlog (+ ZRT - near Ookepil). Weather overcast with 10mph NW wind + snow flurries - cold - ponds remained free all morning. Bird activity was low - 38 PS, N.1 Wolt, 3 south- 2RD, so.; 4 Sanderling. This was total spp. See. About 5 pairs/1 Buddy Turned seen - several collieby; nufing was already underway in part I Mi population. Jaegan seen frequently - 1 True Spr. Afternoon - to Knzetzgob - where I took Soil Samples - no birds in area. March USA. saw 18 PS, 1 SP, (late ZRB - numerous jaegers + Longspurs.
