Holmes, R. 1962 Pond Samples #9 15 July Barrow, Alaska Weather overcast. Light Easterly wind. P-A - dry at stake - ground level = 2.0 phr at 15". Temp = 13.2°C. Pond 10' in diameter with block mud showing at edges & at spots in the center. Only inches deep - at the deepest. P-B. Level at 4.0 - phr at 12" T=13.0°C 15' in diameter. Mud edge with only sparse Lygusia near the edges P-C. Temperature = 11.9°C. phr = 14". Level at 4.8. Pond 15 x 40' - appears deep, no vegetation in the center - block mud. Edge becoming mottled mud. P-D - temp=10.8°C - phr at 14". Level at 5.0 20 x 40' - grass edge - deep - no vegeta- tion beyond edge. P-E. Temp = 13°C, phr at 24", level at 6.0. 10' x 10'. 1 or 2 inches deep at maximum, much moss showing at the surface. Mud at most edge P-F - Temp = 11.8°C , phr at 8" , level at 3.8 30 x 36' - muer Antephiel Showing from the pond P-J. Temp=12.8°C, Level at 3.8, phr = 12" 60 x 36' - muer Antephiel Seaders through the pond.
