STM: 1/4 insects, nectar MOULT: W: R.5 ABR: Nil. Saturday, 25th, March, 1939 WEATHER: Constant heavy rain all day, rivers all in flood. Hurricane approaching from the NE. (Southern New Hebrides). Strong wind from the SSE. Clouds 100%. At night very strong winds from the SE first then backing to the S and SW and at daylight W, showed hurricane centre passing somewhere to the east, possibly somewhere near Walpole Is. Night spent holding on to tent and watching water rise in case of flooding out of camp. Sunday, 26th, March, 1939 WEATHER: Showers off and on during morning slowly becoming finer till about 5 P.M. when a watery sun showed briefly. Clouds mostly 100 % but later a few small breaks appeared. Strong west wind. IN CAMP CLEARING UP THE MESS.
