BIRDS - NEW CALEDONIA L. Macmillan Page 94 WAILU RIVER VALLEY. Wednesday, 5th July, 1939. Sk. No. 66. ACCIPITER hap. Accipiter haplochrous: Female AD., 3/4 O.SE. Has R ovary almost as big. as L. SOFT PARTS: Iris, orange, yellow, eyelid edge, yellow; Bill, black horn, blue horn base; Cere, pale yellow; L&F, bright yellow (almost orange tint) SHOT: 10 a.m. WGHT: 281 gms. SKL: C.O. tough. STM: 0/0 empty. MOULT: Nil. ABR: W/Tl. Nil. Specimen has large winged tick parasites. Was chasing NYMPHICUS when shot.
