On Bainbridge sheet Monrose is well
exposed at bridge & mi's of Pleasant
Valley School, also along road as far
as the school.
- At Pleasant Valley school:
Monrose up to 735. with dependent
crumbles. Ellensburg contact
not seen here but must be near.
Large spherical concretions in red
bed here.

White Black Shale Bluff 7/8 mi
N of school down to creek level
with quartz,
Truant Grove, 3/4 mi SW to cemetery
Then 5/8 mi East. Here is highest
Monrose with Dependentia at 840. perhaps
in top of Monrose. From here
top of Monrose slopes along the top
of road almost as far as next
road corner and west.
Truant Grove 1mi E, then 3/4 mi N
Monrose up to 790, only from one
above this level.
1 mi farther N. the Ellensburg-Monrose
contact runs at about the same
level.
Now it can be seen that the Ellensbur
gy at into with several feet, possibly
2 ft., of black shale overlaid by
a much greater thickness of blue
clay.
3/4 mi farther N. at road crossing,
Only SE 1/4 mi.
Ellensburg Monrose contact at 770, as
near as can be told from contour lines.
SE nearly 1/2 mi, at road junction.
Ellensburg Monrose contact near 750
as near as can be judged from contour lines.
On Bainbridge sheet. Smiley Crummo
School. Then a with nearly a mile, in
stream south of road going west. Here
top of Monrose is seen at about 800
with Ellensburg along road only a
short distance above.
On Peetles sheet. From Truant Grove 1
mi E, then 3/4 mi N & 1/2 mi W.
Monrose top at 800 as near as can
be made out from contour lines.
1/4 mi W. This Monrose ridge over
rock which looks like Marble.
1/2 mi W of road corner, outward from
last locality, beyond lines. Marble
at least as high as 830. at top are loose
blocks of white limestone containing
small pyrenostylos. Large Halysites very
