Immediately S of tractenville, 300 yds
south of Hanging Park, is Strophomena
megastellensis common only about
20-30 feet above creek level.
About 2 miles south of tractenville,
in Liberty and St. Stephen's Bay
Stromella is common near tractville;
About 1 mile before reaching Ridds
tall, a short distance beyond Joe
Snort's store, Petrrophylla and
Lyrce occur on the lower hillsides
but Stromennae megastellensis
is found at creek level.
Along Frye's creek, 100 yds N of Ridds
tale, the Devonian rests upon
the edges of Ordovician strata, no
layer in which it rests
out comes Brachyphora dorsi-folli
rather common but my other
forms have been seen. Along its
immediate east of Ridd's
table a splint of Lyrce was
found a very short distance
beneath the Devonian. The
first layer at the face of the
Devonian is 8 inches thick.
East of Humphrey Bross farm
mills, 6 m NE of Liberty, the other
shale rests on a great thickness of
limestone clayrock mills.
In a steep gully N of tract
West Glen of John Binnis, 3 mi NE of Liberty
Middle base Cuyahoga
38 ft. Olor shale. (S something?) Jackole
65 ft horsetoe unpossibleness
Ordovician alms as at least
unality.
At the base of the Olor shale there
is, in descending order:
5 m avg. shale, greenish.
6 m silty sandy grit. This
leaves for the Olor shale section
to thickness of 37 ft 6 m. The
middle-gray part is phosphatic;
especially the clay part; and
was frequently restricted along
the Creek fork and River.
100 ft NE road up second gully, E
of home of Jack Napier, 13 mi NE Liberty
TJ. J. zebrin,
