Probably chaly. 8 in ss, weathering, chaly at top, 1ft 2 in parting, 1/ft ss. Stratum, Gasconno, 8 in sticky ss. parting 1ft 11in so. Stratum, 1ft 2 in parting, 1ft 4 in so. stratum, 3 in parting, 1ft 6 in ss. stratum 2 in parting 2ft ss. stratum, 7 ft 9in interval covered, probably clay > ? Smilking black shale. top; 10ft Sinking. It not exposed here, 19ft 6in Bedford Berea, Neelsham, culm clay. J.M. Cassedy, Jve. 10. at first trestle south of school house, 3 mi. N of Rayland pumping station, of Cumberland pipe line Tp. ? 6 in, Stratum third f s. ss. parting 6 in Stratum third f s so; 2ft 10 in Brikl arg. + arenaceous sh. 1ft 9 in covered. Apparently top of Smelking Sinking, black shale carbonaceous shale, injure half partly covered. Being exposed with Litching River RR, at first trestle south of school home. ? Jre. 11. Immediately Nwy Rayland pumping station the heavy layers in the upper part of the Bream Viste come down to track level. There is a strong smith sand dip here. of Cumberland pipe line.
