Oliver shale exposed at Harrison
chapel, near J B Harrisons store,
6 miles above mouth of Laurel,
at mouth of Grassy Fork.
Smoking shale exposed south of
Harrison chapel 2 mile, in road
to mouth of Laurel.
4 mile farther on the same road, the
Smoking shale is underlaid by
characteristic Berea sandstone
with ripple marks, along the
Oliver river.
The Smoking shale underlaid by
the typical Berea sandstone, and
overlaid by 3 feet Bernal at a
city ledge and a considerable
section of pinkish clay as at
Bernal Vista, is exposed at the
Pine Hill School about 2 miles
from the mouth of the Laurel,
coming from Harrison Chapel way.
Beyond Copers store at Gran Lodge
the Bedford SS is exposed.
at Mrs. W H Blakeney's place
store, about 4 mile east of the
bridge the Smoking is exposed.
About 200 yds up Laurel from work
crushing near mouth of Laurel Sm.
oily shale
The City ledge with the underlying
Smoking shale is exposed half way
between Ringlese and the Tannery,
or 2 miles below Ringless on
Trace fork of Kinnickinic creeks.
Along RR SE of Ringless the
City always shales are well
exposed, at near Big Cut the
Black Hand SS ? comes in.
On county line at Big Cut.
Top of exposure.
16 ft 6 in thin bedded to sandy white see cutpage
SS, rapid dips a cross bedded, pink,
only the latter.
5 ft 6 in Massive coarse grained SS with
irregular lamist nodules of iron.
From me at top of Maxwellville line.
42 ft. Massive light gray limestone,
pk. exposed along road extending
my at eight angles to cut. Collected
forints at top direction after
10 feet.

28 ft. Massive c rase lime, ap-
parently with mud and sand
slightly fossil, forms with
Semolina ant gradations +
turgidica. On 5 miles (arrow)
8 ft. Red arg, shale.
Bridge 38 ft above track.
