West Rutland Valley. Fossils in S.W. part of valley, just N. of an old abandoned quarry, the most northern one on the west side of the valley, where the rock is grayer than that of the center belt. Dis- tinct and abundant fos-sils. Some sent to Billing. Pleurotomaria staminea, crowded Pleurocystites tenuiradiatus. Chazy. The Cystidean a safe guide. Fossils in central belt, a place S. of R.R. Literally full offossils. Worm surface crow-ded with white spots. {Crinoid disks. Maclureas. Chazy, 3-4" Worm surface crowded with spiral and other forms of half obliterated shells. Chazy Well known Chazy Maclurea.
