H.C. Black, Bedford, Ky. On S side of Corn Creek, about 4 miles from Bedford, fine exposure from top of Madison ward by spiritual Silurian down to Trenton, thin limestone in clay with Pla. caprea, Steph. acmaea, Dimenz. quadrata, Black, service forms. Steph. velata, 6 1/2 ft from creek to base of Clinton, 74 1/2 ft to top of basal Osmond, 16 ft to top of ridge, recovered in N side, Laurel limestone well ex- pored farther north and far upward which is a little over 5 miles farther north, Half a mile farther north, on the S side of the south fork of Corn Creek, the Madison rock is well exposed on the east side of the road, exposure about N & S. 5 1/2 miles to Bedford, 27 1/2 ft from rock with Steph. velata to base of Magnesian Madison, 32 feet more to top of an arcuate Silurian exposed. Top of basal Os- mond is at least 6 feet up. Clinton plainly exposed. 27 1/2 ft to first layer of Limestone, the face of the Limestone occurs below this, 70 ft to top of ridge, but no exposure. 5 ft. Clinton like rock, 1 foot addi- tional rock at base resembling the same. Beneath this is indicated Madison, Magn. Formable contact between line of Clinton + top of Madis-on or that within 15 ft the thickness of the Clinton is about 3 1/2 feet, the lower part being gone where there was an elevation in the Madison. Dimenz. reticulata: 24 ft below rock layer containing Steph. probably Concentricus; looks very much like good vertical view of this species, also several small Dalmanella fissosa, like from former considered typical. 11 feet above this to the Lymnea etc. lected.
