19 August. Barrow, Alaska
composition of birds has changed
greatly during the last week.
Red-Norches are now the most abundant
with Rovitkin second. Pectorate
seen scarce. The tundra seem
very dry with many of the
pools having dried up. Fresh
lumming workings were noted
in area 1 high polygons or
mounds. Jaegan seen scarce,
but owls are seen occasionally.
Two more trapline and intensive
plots C + D were laid out
during the late afternoon and
evening.
